What is the Wake 325th?

Well, its my Warhammer 40k Imperial Guard regiment of course!

Wake is a planet with a moon of almost equal size to the planet, why is that important? Because the planet has a large ocean, that constantly moves do to the immense gravitational pull, creating a rolling ocean. The people of this planet are therefore very mobile, and specialize in both maritime warfare, island hopping, and harsh terrain warfare like jungles or swamps.

So, how do I incorporate this on the gaming table?
My army is currently optimized at 1500 points, consists of mostly infantry and light tanks, this lends to the mobile and amphibious elements of it. However, you can't have a guard army without at least one Leman Russ, so I chose a vanquisher variant, to add some much needed anti-armor abilities.

My play style lends towards a fast hard hitting element with chimeras and deep striking stormtroopers, and a defensive element, that is loaded with heavy weapons and troops.

I will discuss further Imperial Guard tactics, and some neat tricks and tips in more posts to come, I also love comments, so feel free to leave them, and ask questions.
